What Oregon permit holders should know

Oregon has zero reciprocity; visitors with out-of-state permits cannot carry concealed. CHLs are issued by county sheriffs.

Notable Oregon restrictions

  • Does NOT honor any other state's concealed handgun license
  • Issues non-resident CHLs to residents of AK, CA, ID, NV, WA only via specific sheriffs
  • Measure 114 (background-check/permit-to-purchase) remains in active litigation
  • Must present CHL upon LE demand if armed
