What Florida permit holders should know
Florida acknowledges a valid concealed-carry license issued by another state when the nonresident license holder resides in the issuing state. On June 17, 2026, the Fourth District Court of Appeal held the statutory 21-year minimum for license applicants unconstitutional as applied to law-abiding adults ages 18–20; FDACS states it is accepting applications from age 18+.
Notable Florida restrictions
- A visitor's out-of-state license must be issued by the state where the visitor resides
- Permitless concealed carry generally remains limited to qualified adults 21+ (18+ for specified military members and veterans)
- Following Eubanks v. Florida, FDACS is accepting concealed-weapon-license applications from otherwise-qualified applicants age 18+
- No carry in prohibited locations listed in section 790.06(12), Florida Statutes
