What Georgia permit holders should know

Georgia does not require a WCL to carry a firearm in Georgia. A WCL remains available to eligible residents for reciprocity when traveling.

Notable Georgia restrictions

  • Permitless concealed carry for a lawful weapons carrier
  • a Georgia WCL is still useful for reciprocity outside Georgia
  • No carry in government buildings with security screening, courthouses, jails, or other prohibited locations
  • Georgia does not issue ordinary WCLs to non-residents except qualifying military exceptions
