Effective Dec 1, 2011, NC honors any out-of-state concealed handgun permit by statute. Permitless carry legislation pending in NC General Assembly.

Notable North Carolina restrictions

  • Must proactively disclose to LE upon contact and present permit (N.C.G.S. 14-415.11)
  • Failure to disclose is an infraction with fine up to $500
  • Recognizes any other state's valid permit per N.C.G.S. 14-415.24(a)
